Natalia Marinych

Natalia Marinych was born and raised in a creative family in Saint-Petersburg (Russia). She made her first strokes when she was 8 years old and couldn’t stop after. Marinych’s interest in the world of art was inspired by her grandmother who was a talented nature artist. Marinych remembers, “we started early and, step by step, she patiently taught me in my art education. She showed me everything I know now about beauty, sensitivity, humanity and joy. If there is no joy, I can't work at all”. Marinych’s practice is based on oil finding. Through different stages of her art education the artist also tried acrylic, gouache, ink and other water-based medias, but finally she stopped on oil painting. She believes that “the strokes of oil paint create an incredible versatility and depth of colour on canvas”. Natalia Marinych paints in realism and abstract styles. She doesn’t have any particular topic in her works, though nowadays there are 5 different sections in her gallery: animals & birds, flowers & plants, landscapes & sea & sky, people & portraits, still life. She explains this diversity of subjects, “I don't have any specific subject in my art and I seriously doubt I will ever settle down. There's too much out there to paint to commit to just one subject”. Russian artist spends her free time educating herself through reading, meditation, observation and practice. She travels a lot to learn more about the world and show this knowledge in her artworks. To remember exactly what she felt in the new country, Marinych draws pictures on spot. That is why in her luggage there is always place for small canvas and oil dyes. Marinych participates in the international competitions and exhibitions all over the world. Her artworks stay in the private collections in South Korea, The UK, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Spain, France and Russia.

People & Portraits

This album represents human feelings themselves. It is about joy and happiness, grief and frustration. The feelings that you try to show more, the ones you desperately want to hide.

Laughing man “Laughing man”

Pure happiness, sincere joy, contagious laughter. These human emotions are so easy to get when you are young and reckless. And they not necessarily go away when you grow older. The fragile value of the moments of real feelings is precious. And we need to focus on them as often as possible.
The artwork “Laughing man” shows wide smile to the world. It is sincere, uncommon, real. This is a simple story of one happy man. It signifies the beauty of a true emotion. Positive emotion. Laughter.
The artwork “Laughing man” is part of the series of paintings about human emotions.

Laughter “Laughter”

This is a pure positive emotion. Hilarious situations, expression of your joy, enjoying every moment. This is “Laughter”.
Did you know that you need to spend 10 minutes near the mirror doing nothing but laughing to make yourself a little bit happier? This is a big trick of our brain – it catches your mimic and gives you the emotion. You can also change your mood by looking at the other people. Can we prove it by showing this picture of one happy face?

Iceberg “Iceberg”

Gorgeous solid walls of ice. Beautiful white sculptures. Icebergs are
one of few things, which were permanent on the face of our Mother
Earth. Surrounded by water, they have been drifting in the ocean for
millions of years. They outlasted great hungers, wars, plagues and
natural disasters. They flew in silence and people kept forgetting that
these icebergs are the nature themselves. That the great power of
pressed ice can turn into water.
Our number one resource for life – water – is in a very dangerous situation right now. Caused by
pollution that traps hear around the earth, global warming will destroy the icebergs sooner or later. We
can stop this. This pollution comes from cars, factories, homes, and power plants that burn fossil fuels
such as oil, coal, natural gas, and gasoline.
This is a global problem and we need to think about it together, so these beautiful icebergs would be safe
and protected. The world is changing, let’s change it for the better.

for sale.

Lakeview
Why are lakes so beautiful? Perhaps this question has no answer,
but you look at them and you feel relief. Fast, dynamic life of a man
nowadays does not leave time to reflect on themselves, their role in
the world and in the comprehension of harmony with oneself. Stress
became a new reality and we have to deal with it on a regular basis.
The painting “Lakeview” of Natalia Marinych brings you to the
place of harmony and safety. It is deep, blue and clean. It almost
melts with the sky and only two mountains separate two blue
beauties from each other.
Harmony of nature lightened by the sun on the sky. This is the “Lakeview”.

Gray day
Gray clouds tousled by the sun are receding. They show that
every gray day has its end and the silvery sea comes out. This
is not just a figure of speech. Sea does contain silver ions. Rare
and beautiful chemical element shines on the surface of the
water table. There is about 0.3 to 1.0 micrograms of pure silver
in the liter of sea water.
The silver surface of the sea, quiet whisper of the waver and
dark clouds which are retreating under the pressure of daylight.
The sea is sleeping. It keeps the secrets of magic waves and
this gray day.

Skylish “Skylish”

What does the “sky” mean to you? It follows us everywhere, gives us space. From the beginning of time it became a natural ceiling for all of us. Sometimes this ceiling gives us a free shower.
The sky is an air. The air means life. Does the sky mean life to you? It can be so different from time to time. It is colorless on a rainy day, rich orange on the sunset and light pink on the sunrise. And it can be bright blue sometimes. When
it does, it becomes an indicator of the mood. Good mood. Everything changes completely and we become optimistic, we are ready to do things. And we look at the sky. It reflects in the sunglasses. We breathe deeply. We feel so good.
The moments like these are real. Now “sky” means “freedom”. How would you describe a person, who just understood this instant feeling of happiness? We can say that he is sunny, calm, relaxed, but the right word for now would be “skylish”.
The idea of the artwork “Skylish” was in creating the reflection of this feeling of freedom and happiness. The blue strokes of oil painting on canvas add the space to the picture, which creates an illusion of the endless sky everywhere around us. And even if the sky falls, don’t panic.
Look around, the sky is everywhere, it begins at your feet.
The artwork «Skylish» by Natalia Marinych (80 х 60 cm, 31.4” x 23.6”, oil on canvas, 2016).

Destiny “Destiny”

When you look at this child’s eyes, what do you see? Can you see her future? Can you predict that she will become a ballerina, singer, lawyer? Or maybe she will become a housewife? Journalist? Geologist? Can you predict her future by looking at her?
We all have millions of things which differ us from each other. And our background can stop us from doing what we want to do. It is almost impossible to become an artist in the crowd of blind people. But she will try. She will struggle and crawl to her dream. And she will prove that nothing is impossible.
She will live her life just like she wants to. So now, is there even such thing as
destiny? Or we are making our future by ourselves? Does destiny exist in this world?
The artwork “Destiny” by Natalia Marinych (70 x 80 cm, 27.5” x 31.4”, oil on canvas, 2017).

Below the Breadline “Below the Breadline”

How do you think, what ideas about life has a person who lives on 1$ a day and who used to eat from garbage bins? I’m serious! What are his thoughts? What does he dream about and what does he want? Have you ever wondered at least once while passing by homeless people, what is on their mind?
Are they disappointed with Destiny? Do they believe in God? Do they reflect on their lives?
It seems that in the hustle and bustle of daily life we often forget how lucky we are just because we have a roof over our head and food on the table.
I want that every time you look at the painting «On the Breadline» you will appreciate such simple things as fresh air, clear drinking water, a roof over your head and the fact that you don’t need to spend hours on searching for food to survive. More than 1 billion people live on 1$ a day and you should be happy not to be among them! I want you to help poor people when you pass them by, sometimes they don’t need money but just a sign of attention. I’ve noticed that when you just smile at them and ask how they are doing; their mood immediately rises. They aren’t malevolent people, they are just in a difficult situation, at some moment they happened to be below the breadline.
P.S. 30% of the purchase will be donated to the Fund for homeless people!

Black and White World “Black and White World”

An infant knows only the simplest feelings: hunger, fear, pain,
pleasure. And if the reason why an infant feels good is pretty clear
for his mother; it stays a challenge to understand a reason
of his crying.
One thing is certain, inner condition of the newborn is entirely connected with his physical condition. And so it is the whole first month of his life.
A newborn doesn’t realize yet why he feels good or that
his «good» is connected with his mother, he just feels pleasure
when he drinks breast milk, lies in her arms, hears her voice and
her heartbeat. Sometimes on his face appears a tiny smile,
especially after eating or while sleeping. However, this slight facial grimace is not more than involuntary facial muscle contraction
like other chaotic movements which make newborns.
Since birth an infant has one of the main human needs –
the need of communication. For an infant communication
is a physical contact with people, primarily with a mother.
This is one of the simplest but the most important form
of interaction of a little human with other people.
Love your kids and give them warmth. It is meaningful to them.

Belief “Belief”

Quran says, “Do you not see that GOD has committed in your service everything in the heavens and the earth, and has showered you with His blessings – obvious and hidden? Yet, some people argue about GOD without knowledge, without guidance, and without the
enlightening scripture. The believers are members of one family; you shall keep the peace within your family and reverence GOD, that you may attain mercy”. Bible says, “The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they
will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.

I’m Africa. I’m multireligious. My children are Christians and Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus. I love them all, why don’t they love each other? When will the differences in their religions stop hurting people? For the same words are written in different ways in the Saint Books.

And each person should trust in his God without fear.

I will live “I will live”

One child under 5 years old starves to death every 5 seconds. The curse of hunger daily destroys 37 000 people. And about billion people try to survive with a minimum of food supplies. The problem of starvation is in the list of the most essential topics in UNESCO. World politicians, so as worldwide media services keep talking about it on a regular basis.
Ordinary people from the first world try to send humanitarian assistance to the countries of the African continent.

And still nothing helps. Why? When will it stop? How come people can’t live equally on our Mother Earth? The problem of hunger is huge. But do people who deal with it face to face give up? No. They fight for life. And they win day by day.

With this painting I want to remind you that our problems are nothing in comparison with the problem of hunger. You had a small car accident? Slow internet? Or your food in the restaurant was not good enough?

Deal with it. Because you are in a safe place. And you have got food and pure water. Let’s thank God for being lucky enough, healthy enough. Not like this child. But she will survive.

Seduction “Seduction”

When I see a beautiful woman I can’t avoid falling in love, she blows my mind. This is like a lightning strike: the emotion I feel is so bright and overwhelming. And it lasts only for a moment. Like a strike.

Her eyes are two sapphires; they are as blue as the sky and as deep as the ocean. I’m losing control every time she’s looking at me. She is like a cat: graceful but dangerous. She never even started her game but she already won one.

She is a mystery, my beautiful queen. She is a poetry in the world that is still learning the alphabet. She is playing with me.

If I would imagine her as a feeling, she would be a seduction.

There is nothing more terrifying “There is nothing more terrifying”

No matter how much you’ve heard about war from veterans
or eyewitnesses of that dreadful time period, we will never stop wondering how special, interesting and terrifying these
stories are… You always come to conclusion that there is
nothing more destructive and dreadful than war.
My grandfather lost his life in war, he gave his life for peace.
And thanks to this I can live in peaceful time and paint.
I’ll never be able to thank him for it but I’ll never forget that
millions of people gave their lives to let others live in
a peaceful time.
The painting «There is nothing more terrifying» it’s
a remembrance of those who lost their lives in war,
who sacrificed themselves for others without self-pity.
This painting reminds how horrifying the war is and how many
lives it claimed.
We should remember that if we live in peaceful times now,
it means that somebody laid his life for this.

We must never forget it!

The smell of a flower and fresh green grass, the river where the bright blue sky reflects, gorgeous marvelous mountains. The houses of the village are placed somewhere on the painting. The sky is lightened with the fire of sunset. It won’t be happening forever; the sun will hide in couple of minutes. And before it will sink in the sea we can remember one simple truth of what is done today shall never repeat again.
This day could have been ordinary and gray but the sunset changed everything. Now one memory of a terrific sunset won’t be forgotten in a life time.
Just a few minutes takes the human to farewell the passing day. There is some time to remember good things that happened. At that moment nobody seeks for the company. And everybody wants for the moment to last forever.
The artwork “Orange sunset” by Natalia Marinych (30 x 30 cm, 11.8” x 11.8”, oil on canvas, 2015).

Seaside “Seaside”

Why do the sky and sea have different gradients of blue? One is light, another one is dark. In the childhood many were curious about it. Then they just got used to this color difference and took it for granted. 200 years ago scientists wanted to know why is this happening? As, if you’ll fill the glass with a little bit of water, it will be transparent, like the air we breathe. And yet, “why”? white light of the Sun refracts and falls into 7 colors. Blue color dissipates most of all, so the sky is blue. The sea absorbs and
reflects the color of the sky, so it is blue as well.
The painting “Seaside” shows how the forces of nature work altogether. And this harmony is what makes it the most beautiful part of our world.
The artwork “Seaside” by Natalia Marinych (100 x 60 cm, 39.3” x 23.6”, oil on canvas, 2016).
