Pretoria, South Africa based artist Johan Marais presently focuses on still life studies and landscapes. His preference is to use bright fresh colours in his work which gives an impressionistic feel to it. Lately he also focusses on detail in his paintings.
He mostly paints in oil on canvas, although he also works in pastels and pen and ink.
