I’m Gabriela Epstein, Mexican painter, born in México City on 1964. My development as an artist has not been basically academic, but autonomous and independent. I studied Graphic Design and had the opportunity to live in the State of Chiapas, in a Coffee Plantation, having the scenery as a form of inspiration. Living there demanded a constant search for ways of expression, always keeping my sense of reality.
My painting has gone through several stages, starting in a very figurative image, evolving to my present geometrical abstraction, resolute in technique, massive character and organization, conciliatory color as the fundamental source of expression.
My consistence in finding new techniques, art movements and proposals is evident; I believe it is of great importance to find new and different ways of expression to allow an inner and individual growth. I currently reside in Mexico City, where I have my studio and impart painting classes.
