SEVG? ÇA?AL
Born in 1956, Bursa, Turkey.
Moved to the United States with her family at a very early age. She grew up in Brooklyn , NewYork and graduated from New York University with a degree in French Literature and Art History. She is fluent in English, Turkish, French and ?talian participated in workshops in Paris and New York as well as in ?s. She studied painting after having graduated from university with various artists from all over the world. She founded Studio 19 in ?stanbul where she has chosen to reside since 1985. Ça?al has had 25 solo exhibitions and has participated in 40 mixed exhibitions worldwide. Her works may be found in collections in the U.S., France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Sweden, Ireland, England, Australia and Hong Kong as well as in Turkey. She is also a teacher of painting and translator of art history books and artists biographies. Çagal has built a sculpture for a park in Istanbul in 2009. Ça?al has participated in artfairs locally and internationally . Ça?al has been invited to the Florence Biennale and will be exhibiting at the 2010 Istanbul artfair.
