George Brinner is known for his paintings of imagined landscapes with purple trees and orange skies, and wonderful interior/exterior views with cupcakes the size of muskmelons that grace the walls of private and public collections in the USA, Australia, Europe, and Japan including the Houston Museum of Fine Art, Tulane University, The Blaffer Foundation Collection, and the Hawaii State Foundation for Culture and the Arts. He paints slightly surreal scenes of tourists and locals on the beaches of Maui and portraits that have been featured in two Schaefer Portrait Challenges. He has been selected to participate in dozens of juried shows including the Illinois Artists Annual at the Chicago Art Institute, the Indiana Artists Annual, and numerous Art Maui Exhibitions.
George also writes literary fiction often described as magical realism. His humorously offbeat novel, ‘Einstein’s Road Trip’, was a finalist in the prestigious Faulkner/Wisdom Competition and has received high critical praise. ‘Einstein’ and his novel, ‘Another Christmas Tale’ are presently available on his website - www.brinnerART.com - in signed paperback and e-book form along with his paintings.

“I also own a little bar called Kahale Beach Club in Kihei on the southern coast of Maui where I can take refreshment and go watch the whales play. Drop by and say hello next time you're in town. Maui has remained my home since fate first brought me to Hawaii in the summer of nineteen seventy eight. Staying on Maui has always been an easy decision for me. As an artist, my chances of survival are about as good in one place as any other, so why not wake to a pleasant day?
