Born in Oklahoma, but raised in both Oklahoma and Texas, Sill is a lifelong artist who returned to art after a career as Executive Director of several Botanical Gardens and Parks. She lives in McAllen, Texas on the Texas/Mexico border and has a long-term relationship with Mexico and Latin America in general.
Her subjects are largely portraits of indigenous peoples and scientifically accurate botanical illustrations. Her media include watercolor, pen and ink, oils and acrylic, as well as print making.
Sill's work is shown across Texas, and she gives workshops in watercolor portraits and pen and ink botanical illustration.
