I grew up in the tropical climate of the Gulf Coast of Texas, surrounded by a rich diversity of nature, loving every moment outdoors, day or night. Perhaps this environment formed my affinity for nature as well as for color. My current paintings explore the natural world – close studies of flowers, leaves, rocks, and shells reveal a realm both delicate and dramatic, intricate and intense.

I have recently retired as a Professor of Art. I continue to draw, paint, and design books.
