Laís Pontes (Brazil b.1981) is an interdisciplinary artist recognised for the multiple characters she created using social media platforms (such as Facebook or Instagram) in the process of creation.
 
Pontes’ work has been exhibited internationally and she received numerous awards, including the London International Creative Competition Talent of the Year Award (London, 2013); the PX3 Prix de la Photographie (Paris, 2012); and the Filter Photo Juror’s Prize (Chicago, 2011).
 
Born in Fortaleza (Brazil), Pontes currently lives and works in London. She holds an MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago (2014), and a Certificate from the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York (2011).
