Tahmina Sultana Rosy was born in 1984 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has taken her first formal education in Art from the Institute of Fine Arts of Dhaka University. She has completed her M.F.A. in 2012 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University with the major in Crafts. She works with various mediums of paintings as well as metal, wood, wool, clay and serigraph.
The subjects of Tahmina's works reflect Sufi influence and her style reflects the influence of folk art and crafts for which she tends to use simplified forms.
The artist has been working in personal art projects as well as professional projects since 2003. Currently, Tahmina is an art teacher at a public school in Dhaka. Besides that she is working on an art project and writing on social and global issues.
