Location:

I am a New York artist, who has been living in the United States for more than 25 years. I was born in St.Petersburg, Russia, in a family of artists, musicians and writers; the beauty of the city I grew up along with the creative atmosphere at home highly influenced my artistic aspirations. I attended St.Petersburg City School of Painting and Drawing and graduated with the degree in art history from the Imperial Academy of Arts. My favorite mediums I work in are watercolor and soft pastel. I am a member of American Watercolor Society.

Nature is an endless source of artistic inspiration for me. I try to live according to the ancient quote “look at the stones with love, and they stop being stones only”. Noticing beauty around is healing for the soul, and I love to share this healing beauty with others. I do this by creating realistic images, or interpret them in a more abstract ways. I invite the viewers to be in an open dialogue with my paintings, to reflect on what speaks to them - would it be a realistic beauty of “simple things”, or a kind of “otherworldly dream” emerging from an abstract combination of lines and colors.

The artistic expressivity of my favorite mediums suit me best in creating harmonies, airy, and sometimes ephemeral and mystical pictures of nature.
