Eurico Salis was born in south Brazil in 1959. He toured Brazil to create illustrations for the
book “100 portraits of car-loving Brazilians”. He won the Joaquim Felizardo Photography Prize and published “The Historical
District of Porto Alegre”, made up of black and white photographs. Eurico Salis was
awarded the Best Book prize by Abigraf (Brazilian Graphic Industry Association – Rio
Grande do Sul) for “The Historical District of Porto Alegre”. One year later, he
published “Rio Grande do Sul: the Land and the People”, with great repercussion in
the national press. He published “The Power of the Earth”, with photographs of
small farmers from the Brazilian countryside, and held a photographic exhibition of
the same name in the Brazilian section of ExpoMilan 2015, in Italy. He held this same
exhibition in Paris and Brussels. Salis published a trilogy “O Solo e o Homem”,
“Homens e Máquinas” and “Cultura e Identidade”, the most extensive
contemporary photographyc documentation about Rio Grande do Sul(south Brazil). In 2022 he
published Retratos Gaúchos Olhares Inesperados, a photographic and a
digital exhibition. In 2024, Eurico published “Terra Gaúcha Gerações”, a project that
brings together a book, digital exhibition.
