Véronique Doucet currently lives in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Fine Arts, Minors in Arts and Sciences at Université de Montréal). She has become known through her Art project: Aldermac Mining Plantation, initiator of a great environmental victory that has led to the restoration of an abandoned mining site. Her exhibitions and performances have been shown in exhibition centres in Quebec, others provinces and have appeared in various collections, including Loto-Québec’s. She is also co-founder of Groupe Écocitoyen (GÉCO), a group focused on environmental citizen action! Ms. Doucet has taught visual arts at Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue since 2012. In 2015, she won the grant : Creator of the year for the CALQ (Arts council of Quebec). In 2016, she was a jury at the Biennale d’art miniature de Ville-Marie, as well as the CALQ. She has just received a CALQ grant (2018) to continue her research and creation of her future exhibition: Roadside autopsy in which she develops the plogging art, a new artistic movement in which she develops the art of plogging a new artistic movement based on the collection of waste (cultural artefacts) during her jogging and then put them in opposition with road kill animals (natural artifacts). Her work is now presented at contemporary art fairs in New York, San Francisco and Paris.
