Jyelle

Jyelle

Location: France

After a career  in teaching, I decided to get back to my first inclination, painting. Having travelled worldwide and admired artefacts of many cultures, I am drawn to colourful, intense and imaginative painters, such as the Douanier Rousseau, Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse. The freedom of the naïve form enhances best my imaginary world and, the naive painters of my native Alsace inspire me particularly. Having lived in tropical countries, I use Nature's rich palette of vivid colours to express emotions and feelings. I started exhibiting in 2022 in La Rochelle (France) as a member of an artist association, went on to set up my solo in St Savinien, entitled "Les Reves de Jyelle". In 2024, my works were exhibited in Nice (France) at the Alicia O. gallery. I also participated in a contest of the Circle Foundation for the Arts and was granted the "Masterful Mind Award".

Flower dreams

My dreams are inspired from Mother Nature and nurtured by my imagination and fantasies. I give them life on my canvases using oils to convey sensuality. Rich colours sweep through the paintings to convey moods and atmosphere. I chose to express myself in a style reminiscent of the naive, which allows me to travel easily between fiction and reality. Come and dream with me....
