Artist Statement.
My work is a dialog with the art of past epochs in order to rethink eternal values. My manifesto painting "Egyptian Queen with Shark", intuitively created in 1993, reflected the emergence of a new era of social-communication and the beginning of metamodernism in art. The variety of themes in my works reflects the development of the world, following as it were an upward and expanding spiral, revealing new aspects of reality.
I try to see the positive with a touch of humor and irony, rethinking the old art in the new, corresponding to today's realities. Combining abstract and figurative, fictional and real into a single composition is a challenging but fascinating task.
My works, whether Plein Air or sketches, are impressionistic and sublimative, often stand-alone works of art that do not need to be finalized in the studio. I'm drawn to depicting objects as parts of the divine symmetry of fractals, which is a reflection of the mathematical basis of the universe. The lines of force in my works form the space of the canvas. These lines are in line with the modern physical theory of strings, according to which they are the force that shapes the universe. My work is based on the rich experience of my personal life; my passions and various hobbies, on the emerging desire to share my thoughts and worldview.
I try to improve my skills, find new forms of embodiment of ideas arising in my subconscious, re-evaluating them to determine the strategy for their realization. I like to try different approaches and experiment with different mediums, but I stay true to the basic idea of my art.
