Jovhanna rutvanowska
Artist painter- engraver - sculptor
Jovhanna Rutvanowska lives and works
Between Montpellier (France) - Montréal (Canada)
The works of Rutvanowska are born in a world of the imaginary, where she makes no difference between the abstract and the figurative, to the extent that the effect of an abstract painting can be completely mythical while another may be figurative.
A world beyond the sensuality, expressed through the warm colours of her oil paintings, or by their lyrical rhythms capable themselves of seducing the amateur, touches gently at our sub-conscience.
The subjects of her paintings are recounted to us like a mythology. Through her painting she makes visible the invisible movements of life and makes appear to us the lost traces of our path towards the infinite.
The varied techniques practiced simultaneously by Rutvanowska – painting, engraving, design, sculpture – heighten the imaginary suggestions that she provokes, as they are interconnected by the same desire to pierce the visible to show the invisible.
Following her work on “The Divine Comedy”, “The Temptation of Mephisto “ and the creation of 16 stained glass for the church of St. Bernard of Lattes, Montpellier, Jovhanna Rutvanowska continues her research into the Divine , in which she has been involved since 1997, with her vision of the “Seven Sins”. Marked by “ the abstraction subconsciously figurative” , her works become sensual and generous enriched by the techniques of painting, engraving and sculpture in which coexists her intimate exploration of the spiritual and her universal vision
Today installed in France in my LAVERUNE- MONTPELLIER new studio, I immerse myself in the world of the Opera with, for current project, the creation of twenty works of large formats on several operas .
