Inspired by the winter landscape this series of paintings explores the formal elements of line, color, and composition found both outdoors and in the studio. Each painting is layered first with acrylic paint, then a jell medium transfer of a photograph, and completed with several layers of oil paint; trapping and imbedding the image within the painting. This process creates the appearance of deep or voluminous space— environments in which the viewers’ imagined narratives may take place.
