“I am passionate about using nature as a springboard to create a sense of wonder and awareness of our connection to the land.
In this current work the glass is manipulated, respectfully probing the boundaries of the medium.
Through multiple low firings I have created a new surface language and an interaction of textures which invite the viewer to step in close enough to touch and question, and then back to view the whole. My hope is that this work might cause the observer to see both nature and glass in a new way. As I create these new works, I find myself questioning and reopening old perceptions deeply rooted in childhood but nearly buried by our busy technological world.
