The high aspirations of the art of painting of olden times, together with themes of modern-day life. Experience my detail-rich oil paintings and let the intense and realistic colors shine in your heart.
I have occupied myself with art and design for many years.
The application of the oil medium onto the corresponding finely webbed canvas, sanded wood, or primed metal plate is in direct opposition to my penchant for perfection, because the trompe l’oeil illusion can only be depicted on very fine surfaces.
This is how an illusionary three-dimensional world is created from a two-dimensional world, through fine application of many overlapping layers of color.
Inspired by the oil paintings of well-known artists from the 16th century, I began to develop my own creative skills. Painting light, tonal skin and hair details, the reflections of shiny surfaces…these were my first few goals.
Through my knowledge of how to handle oil-based paint and my investment of time, patience and precise observation, I came closer and closer to my ambitious goals.
" It’s all about the little things...", according to this motto, my paintings should be admired at close range.
I deliberately incorporate small “flaws,” for example, cracks in a photorealistic painted wood frame, or damaged spots on the skin of an apple.
It is precisely these small flaws, which are inevitable in life, that bring a completely individual character and charm to an undamaged and new but somewhat lifeless object, and turn it into a valuable subject full of life.
It’s worth it to take a look at my pictures and take in all the little things that may have been painted with a small wink.
Art connects people, creativity opens the heart ... and makes you happy!

…With exceptional accuracy, Gabriele Prosser penetrates the medium of
oil painting in a completely new dimension. In the old master style, she manages to
make a very special approach to reality.
For her, reality is a conceptual as well as pictorial challenge. Although she works from photographs and memories, the images follow her own inner pictorial logic, ironically depicting the absolute harmony of all elements.
The focuses of her work are humanity and nature, and, above all, the experience of time. The artist is unmistakably at home in the European painting tradition - from Jan van Eyck, Albrecht Dürer and Leonardo da Vinci to
Caspar David Friedrich - without necessarily turning her back on contemporary art.
Her trompe l’oeil images are created with dedication and technical sophistication. Here the artist sends the viewer through a school of vision, which challenges the viewer’s usual habits in this era of visual overstimulation.
Gabriele Prosser does not follow any trends; rather, she throws herself into the process of painting, material selection, the expenditure and acceleration of time and conscious opposition to the banalization of modern-day society – and this is what makes her work entirely unique.
