I've been working on some small sculptures at Glassell School of Art for the last 2 years. After making the originals, a mother mold, and many copies of the originals in wax, I managed to complete 5 molds to be casted in bronze. Finally a few weeks ago we tried casting 3 of them. What a sad surprise it was to see them cracking and coming out completely distorted from the originals! At that point I had 2 options: either I'd re-melt the odd results, or I'd try to work with what I got. I chose the last one. I've sandblasted, sanded, added various layers of patina to achieve these results. I hope you enjoy the "archeological" looking pieces that came to grow out of my hands!
