We are pleased to announce JoAnne Artman Gallery as an exhibitor at the inaugural edition of CONTEXT New York, taking place May 3 - 8, 2016 in NY. The fair will join Art New York at Pier 94, located on the Hudson River at 12th Avenue at 55th Street. A VIP Private Preview will kick off art week in NYC on Tuesday, May 3rd. CONTEXT New York and Art New York will be open to the general public, May 4 - 8. CONTEXT New York will provide collectors with a leading alternative fair to acquire important works of contemporary art. JoAnne Artman Gallery will be presenting works by Colombian-American Artist America Martin. The magnetic pull of Martin’s work is authentic, generated by both her ability to express a unique gesture that speaks to a universal truth and her exceptional skill at rendering that truth via the human form.

It Figures: The Body in Art Call for Entries This exhibition is a contemporary examination of the human figure, historically a major focus of artists. All societies have created their own concepts for how to portray the human body. ARC looks to examine contemporary society’s and artists’ views of the human body in all of its manifestations. Ascents, Visio Dell’Arte’s Spring exhibition, showcases nine artists at different stages in their artistic careers. Six emerging artists, Bonus, Jeff Bortniker, Ene, Anik Legoupil, Gaëtan de Séguin and Olivier Valli will share the gallery walls with three established artists, Anatoly Burykin, Chhour Kaloon, and Cosmina. All of Visio Dell’Arte’s artists have been founded by gallery owner, Max Laniado.
