Martyna Sabadasz

I'm Polish and I live and work in UK since 2007. In 2008 I got a placement on the Illustration course at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham. During the course I discovered and develop my passion for relief printing.
Since then I created hundreds woodcuts and linocuts. Although I'm a versatile in my techniques, I also use acrylics, watercolours and letterpress.
I'm an illustrator and printmaker.
I create the world around me by analysing and observing others.
I like to be humorous and absurd. My work can reflect those elements. It can also reflects contemporary motifs and abstract illusions.
Trained as an illustrator I want to record situations and use narrative components to build up expressions.
As a printmaker I'm rather traditional in approach.
Physical elements give you strength in creating the image. It appears on the print.
I love travelling and when I love sketch booking during any journeys I take.
I work as a freelance Illustrator and mural artist.

It's all about woodcuts here. All the images have been printed from single woodblock. The colours have been added by using stencils. It's a rather simple way to create colourful illustration, however time consuming.

Mural Artwork

Examples of mural I was commissioned last year, for private customers and independent restaurants.
