Tanya Mccabe

Tanya’ McCabe

Although Tanya describes herself as “self-taught”, she’s at the point in her adult life where she appreciates how much family life, hobbies, career choices and overseas travel have all moulded her into the artist she is today.

Tanya’s extensive art-related career included work as a silk screen printer, photo lithographer, web and graphic designer. Tanya has also had successes in Wearable Art and Body Art.

Primarily, Tanya works in Acrylic on canvas. With a vivid imagination, dedication to her craft and patience, she transforms her visions into a reality all can see. Never satisfied with flat colour, Tanya’s work is built up with multiple layers of translucent pigments and washes skilfully combined with detailed textured elements forming her unique and vibrant originals. Described by many as "Stunning"

"I like to think of myself as an innovator...always evolving and trying new ideas purely to satisfy my need to create."

These days Tanya is inspired by a healthy imagination, her spirituality and a strong desire to explore her Scottish - Maori - Tongan roots, incorporating them all together, creating interesting results. “To me, my ancestry is full of mystery, curiosity and rich in diversity. The perfect playground to delve deeper into my creativity"
